CHITRAL: On Saturday night, a Jeep Crash traveling from Chitral city to Yarkhoon valley fell down a steep ravine in the Theengo Char area close to Brep village in Upper Chitral. Ten people were seriously injured, and four people died as a result.
When the automobile slid off the narrow, slick road in the middle of a downpour of rain, 17 people were inside, according to a Rescue 1122 representative who spoke with Dawn.
He stated that the injured were sent to the Mastuj and Booni hospitals from the neighboring Aga Khan Health Service health center by the Rescue 1122 teams, who had retrieved the deceased and injured from the ravine with the assistance of the locals. The driver of the car, Sher Nadir, and a woman who was identified as Sher Wali’s wife—a former Chitral Scouts official—died in the accident. The names of the two children, who were eight and ten years old, were unknown at the time this report was filed.
Three of the injured were in critical condition due to head injuries, according to Dr. Israruddin, the deputy medical superintendent of DHQ Hospital Chitral, who spoke with Dawn about the referral of six injured people to Peshawar hospitals.
